Where I’ve Been (Besides Substack)

I’ve been fighting for every word, that’s where.

If you didn’t know, I signed a contract with Moody Publishing for my second book last fall. It’s a book that will tackle lies Christians believe about suffering through a series of questions like, Am I suffering because of my sin? or Is comparing suffering helpful? You know, shallow stuff like that.

Writing a book like this is incredibly difficult because there’s so much wisdom and nuance involved in suffering. And really, that’s why I’m writing this book—to bring some of that nuance back. To encourage Christians that suffering well doesn’t mean yielding to a sort of modern-day stoicism, but might look more like grieving what he grieves and trusting that you are held in your grief. It’s less about never lamenting, but rather, lamenting well. I can’t wait to get it into your hands.

Aside from wrestling with God over each chapter and begging for him to work through me, I’m also beginning to promote my first book, Lost Gifts: Miscarriage, Grief, and the God of All Comfort which releases July 23rd. (Available for preorder here.) Even if you’ve never experienced miscarriage, I truly believe this book will remind you of the God who holds you in your own suffering.

And lastly, I’ve been writing on my Substack about Leaving the Church You Love, the mind-wearying fight of OCD, and Healing Through Art. If you want to keep up with my writing, you can subscribe here.

I can’t leave without sharing my book cover:

I’m so thankful for every one of you. May God bless and keep you, my friends.

Hi! Brittany here. I'm a follower of Christ, wife to James, and mama to Theodore, William, and three babies lost through miscarriage. I'm the author of Lost Gifts: Miscarriage, Grief, and the God of All Comfort. I exist to bring God glory and pray my writing is an avenue for that. I long to encourage women to think and live biblically. I'm on a journey to make Christ my ultimate Treasure in every circumstance and hope to encourage other women to do the same.
