Description
Years ago, I wrote down every Psalm that encouraged me in a season of suffering. I’ve compiled those passages into a Scripture writing (or reading) plan. When you are in a season of weariness, grief, or trial, it can be difficult to stay engaged with God’s Word. This is a simple plan where you can choose to either write each passage out in a journal, or simply read or listen to it. I love writing Scripture because it causes my heart to meditate on the words I pen.
I created this 50-day plan to encourage those who are suffering, hence the name: Psalms for the Suffering. But it would be an encouragement to anyone.
If it were me, I would use the plan like this:
- Read the Psalm mentioned in its entirety.
- Write out the specific verses listed in the plan.
- Pray the passage back to the Lord.
In all, this should only take about 10-15 minutes a day. If you are wanting to read God’s Word in the New Year but aren’t sure where to start, the Psalms are a wonderful starting point.
