WHY I WRITE
Who am I?
My name is Brittany Allen. I’m a wife to James and most importantly a follower of Christ.
My childhood home was far from Christian. As a child and into my teen years, I experienced many heartaches and trials ranging from domestic abuse, poverty, abandonment and being surrounded by drugs to name a few. I saw many things children should never have to witness.
As I approached my teen and early adult years I was already fully consumed by boys and sex. I was a slave to whatever boy would give me attention. This destructive path continued until the day Jesus sought me and saved me from my sin when I was 21.
Since then, God has redeemed my life from the pit and put a song of praise in my mouth (Psalm 40:2-3). I long for the world to experience his amazing grace that has transformed my life.
What do I believe?
You can find my theological beliefs here.
Why do I write?
There are so many voices out there writing about every topic under the sun. So, why on earth do I write? The simple answer is this: Because God called me to. All believers have been called by God to share his gospel story (Matthew 28:16-20). This is just another avenue he’s given me to accomplish that.
Furthermore, I write because I know there are women who are struggling with the very things in which I have experienced. I pray the Lord would use each article written in transparency to convict, encourage, and draw his children to himself.
What do I write about?
Just about anything the Lord lays on my heart. I want my words to line up with Scripture so I am very prayerful and careful about each article I publish. I pray for God’s guidance in my writing and try my best to back up what I say with his Word.
You will find posts about relationships, theology, anxiety, sexuality, marriage, suffering, and redemption. My favorite things to write about are stories that display the redemptive power of the gospel of Christ.
